Seascape from the 'Castilian'

S0985

Seascape from the 'Castilian' Long Caption: A sketch of a calm seascape from the 'Castilian'. Everett has used colour to show the relationship between sea, sky and sun. Although a ship is implied in the distance on the horizon, it is brilliance of the setting sun which forms the main focal point. It forms a brilliant light and casts its reflections over the surface of the calm water. Everett sailed in the steamer, 'Castilian', from London to the Mediterranean, between October 1937 and February 1938.
