Martini rifle Long Caption: Martini rifle. The stock is secured to the barrel by two steel bands. Fitted with two steel bands, steel trigger and sling loops. Martini action. The barrel is steel, fitted with a leaf rearsight and raised foresight. The calibre is 0.22in. The name 'A WILLS' is inscribed on the rifle. Two arrows indicate that weapon was taken out of government service. (These marks represent the Mark II Government disposal marks). Conversion by Greener of a Mark III Martini Henry intended for use by the Society of Miniature Rifle Clubs (founded after the Boer war for civilians to improve their marksmanship).
