Porcelain plate Long Caption: A porcelain plate, printed in blue with a portrait of Edward VII in naval uniform based on a photograph. Inscribed on a ribbon below 'KING EDWARD VII receiving the Address at the Custom House'. Around the centre of the plate is 'OPENING OF THE ROYAL EDWARD DOCK, AVONMOUTH BY THEIR MAJESTIES JULY 9TH 1908'. On the edge are the crowned royal monogram 'ER VII' with 'GOD SAVE THE KING' on a scroll below and the Royal Arms with 'HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE' on a scroll below.
