Purse Long Caption: A beaded silk purse sewn to a metal frame. It is decorated with a geometric pattern in red, white and blue with loops of black beads at the bottom. The beads are threaded up then knitted. It has plain weave silk lining. It belonged to a crew member of Franklin's Arctic expedition, 1845 and was found in an abandoned boat at Erebus Bay, King William Island, in May 1859 by the McClintock Search Expedition 1857-1859.
