Portable telescope Long Caption: This non-achromatic telescope was made in France in the late 18th century. It has a green rayskin (shagreen) barrel and a single green vellum draw tube. The lenses are set in lignum vitae with silver mounts. There is a black stop line near the eyepiece end of the draw tube.
