An unidentified male member of the Herschel Family. Case Long Caption: A case and frame-bound photographic print. A hand-tinted portrait photograph of an unidentified male member of the Herschel family. The sitter is the sitter is seated on a cushioned chair with his legs crossed and holding his top hat over his lap with his right hand. His gloved left hand rests on his right knee holding the glove for his right hand. He is wearing dark trousers, jacket and necktie, light waistcoat and white shirt. The photograph is mounted behind a rectangular gold-coloured mount with an oval aperture. The case is covered in dark red leather and has a simple border and two hooks on one side. The inside of the case is lined with red velvet and the lid is cushioned.
