View across to Senglea with the Sheer Bastion on the right Long Caption: A waxed calotype paper negative. A view looking north-west from the walled garden of the Carmelite Monastery of St Tereza (St Theresa), Cospicua, towards the Church of our Lady of Victories (now Senglea Basilica) in Senglea. In the middle distance on the right are the wooden sheer legs at Macina (Sheer Bastion) on the Senglea side of Dockyard Creek. Alongside the quay is a starboard broadside view of an unidentified brig. Calvert Jones arrived in Malta in late November 1845, writing to Talbot on 24 November about the journey through France. By mid April 1846 Calvert Jones was in Naples.
