Claudii Ptolemael Cosmographia (Ptolemy) - Long Caption: Claudii Ptolemael Cosmographia (Ptolemy) - The first edition of Ptolemy printed in Germany, and the first with woodcut maps. It was based on a manuscript, with maps designed and executed by the German Benedictine monk, Dominus (or Domnus) Nicolaus Germanus. The text is the translation by Jacopo d'Angelo. The original twenty-seven maps are supplemented by five additions, including the first printed representation of Greenland.
