View of the cargo steamer 'Patroclus' (1896) aground off Blacknor Point with salvage vessels alongside Long Caption: Elevated starboard view just aft of the bow, taken from the cliffs, of the cargo steamer 'Patroclus' (1896) aground off Blacknor Point, Portland. The 'India' (1876) is secured off her port bow, whilst off the starboard bow is the salvage vessel 'Linnet' (1880) with the spritsail barge 'Thistle' alongside her. The coaster 'Annie' (1902) is moored to the starboard quarter of 'Patroclus'. 'Patroclus' grounded in fog on 13 September 1907 on her way from Brisbane to Liverpool via Adelaide. She was refloated and towed off by 23 September 1907. This is a copy negative of a photographic print.
