A student from the Royal Hospital School Long Caption: The 1694 charter founding Greenwich Hospital planned 'the Maintenance and Education of the Children of Seamen happening to be slaine or disabled' in the Royal Navy. The first children were educated in 1715, when ten 'orphans of the sea' received lessons in navigation at 'Weston’s Academy' in Greenwich. The school moved to Holbrook in Suffolk in 1933, where it remains to this day.
