John Milton was a gifted young engraver at the Royal Mint, who designed the Barbados Penny in 1788. He was discharged in 1796 for supplying forged dies of foreign coins (French Louis d'Or and Portuguese joannes) to counterfeiters. Part of the Michael Graham-Stewart slavery collection.
