Aerial view of Canary Wharf Long Caption: The Canary Wharf estate extends over 86 acres and is so called because it was built on a section of the West India Dock that, during the 1930s, received imports from the Canary Islands. The current development comprises of office buildings, a retail centre, conference and banqueting centre, a Docklands Light Railway station and a London Underground station.
