Third rate warship 'Mars' (1794), 74 guns Long Caption: Scale: 1:48. A contemporary full hull and rigged model of the 'Mars' (1794), a 74 gun, third rate two decker ship of the line. An amateur-made model, sailor’s work and is decked, equipped and rigged. The RUSI catalogue entry reads 'the model, built previous to the construction of the actual ship, was given to Mr W. J. Huggins by King William IV, who commanded him to paint some pictures of the battle of Trafalgar.'
