French warship

L3171-001

French warship Long Caption: Scale: unknown. A contemporary full hull and rigged model of a French two-decker ship of the line (circa 1800). It's prisoner of war work and the model is decked, equipped and rigged, two chords from the stern operate to run the guns in and out and the flag is packed between two pieces of card. Kept separately in a bag are two booms, five gun carriages, forecastle, bulwalks and taff rail. It represents the 'Temeraire' however, due to being prisoner of war work, doubt remains whether it is really identifiable with that ship.
