NMM Progress Book, volume 6, folio 548, states that 'Sapphire' arrived at Portsmouth Dockyard on 4 August 1838 and docked on 20 October 1839. She was undocked on 27 September 1938, and sailed on 3 November 1839 after being refitted for troops.
