Royal Naval uniform Long Caption: This silver gilt oval-shaped shoulder belt plate is an example of the type of non-regulation accessory often worn with uniform. The outer edge is worked with a combination of bright work and line engraving to create a repeating scallop motif. The central reserve is engraved with a large fouled anchor with a slanted stock. The back of the belt-pate features four stud fasteners. It is stamped twice with the maker's mark, 'H. B.'.
