Horary quadrant with Gunter projection

F2111-1

Horary quadrant with Gunter projection Long Caption: This is a horary quadrant marked with Gunter scales and a surveyors shadow square in the top third. It is unsigned but the tulips on the reverse were a favourite decoration of Walter Hayes, a London instrument maker in the late 17th century. The high quality of the engraving would make such an attribution likely.
