'Horse at Play' Long Caption: Horse at play' after George Stubbs. Stubbs was the horse painter of his day, renouned for his accurate representation of horses anatomy made possible by his many years of study and dissection. This print shows a horse in its aparently natural setting, playing amongst trees and rocks. The engravers and publishers of this print are father and daughter team, William and Letitia Byrne. Quite a number of their engravings are found in the Herschel collection suggested the family liked their work.
