'Dreadnought'; warship; 98 guns; 2nd rate Long Caption: Scale: Unknown. A model of the British warship 'Dreadnought' made in plaster with wood, metal, paper, and cotton fittings, which has been realistically painted. The model depicts the vessel at 13.40 on 21 October 1805 at the height of the Battle of Trafalgar. The model is undamaged. The ship is three masted, ship rigged with set sails. The hull is painted black with white stripes along the three gun decks, white on the deck, and black on the deck fittings. There is some dark grey cotton wool on the deck in front of the main mast. There is a white ensign flying from the peak of the gaff, a Union flag hoisted between the four and mainmasts, and a white pennant flying from the top of the mainmast. On a paper label: '5'.
