'Wendur' (1884) Long Caption: Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the starboard side of what is possibly the four-masted cargo ship 'Wendur' (1884), made entirely in wood, painted and polished. The hull has a clipper bow. The hull is polished a light brown finish below the waterline and painted black above with a broad unpainted strip running the entire length of the vessel on which is painted black rectangles resembling gunports. Fittings include figurehead and decorative trailboards; a stump bowsprit, foremast, mainmast, third mainmast and mizzen mast; two deckhouses; and a poop deck with three fittings. The model is displayed on a rectangular wooden backboard within a frame. On label attached to bottom right-hand corner of backboard: 'Wendur Built by Charles Connell & Co. Whiteinch, Glasgow'. On starboard bow 'Wendur'.
