Sectional design model of the longitudinal frame for HMS 'Warrior' (1860) Long Caption: Scale: 1:1. Full size sectional design model depicting the longitudinal frame for HMS 'Warrior' (1860), a 40 gun single screw ironclad vessel. The model shows a section of a longitudinal frame which is made entirely of wood and painted black overall,. The model can be disassembled by undoing four long narrow wire pins with an eye at one end. It has been painted with white lettering and reads "Angle Iron inner edge", "Continuous Transverse frame Warrior", "Short transverse plate between longitudinal frames", "Full size" and "Angle Iron on outer edge (b)". Four paper labels have been applied to the model, two of which are printed with the numbers “14” and “34”. The other two are hand written and read ““Warrior” Section of Transverse Frame” and the other is marked with a South Kensington Museum catalogue number.
