Portrait of the 'Oranje'? Long Caption: Drawing on reverse. A starboard-quarter portrait of the 'Oranje'?, an East Indiaman of about 70 guns. The 'Oranje', built 1665, was an East Indiaman that was burnt that year at the battle of Lowestoft. This is probably a drawing of a ship that replaced her, but not record of such a ship has been traced. On the tafferel is the arms of Zeeland on a crowned shield surmounting crossed anchors, supported by two lions. At the top of the tafferel is the date '1666'. On the rail above is a coat of arms supported by dolphins.
