The barque 'Camphill' in a rough sea Long Caption: A portrait of the three-masted barque 'Camphill' in a rough sea. Her top sails are furled and she lists heavily to starboard. Waves can be seen washing over the deck and deck house. Her sailors can be seen struggling to keep control at the main mast on the heaving deck. Another ship is shown caught in a squall in the distance on the far right. The 'Camphill' was built in 1889 and sailed between Liverpool and Valpariaso. The painting is one of a pair with BHC3678 and is signed and dated 'J. Fannen 1900'.
