A single-masted, transom sterned, clinker boat with the number 5 on the hull is beached at the waterline with its boom lashed to the mast to furl the mainsail. The jib has been furled on a roller-reefing system. A second clinker-built gaff-rigged cutter, numbered 54, is sailing close inshore towards the groynes with passengers onboard.
