Within the basin, numerous sailing trawlers have their sails set, while others are still under bare poles. These include the ketch-rigged trawler 'Boy Ernie' (1905) [LT282], and trawler 'LT873'. The ketch-rigged trawler 'Sunshine' (1902) [LT959] can be seen alongside the outer wall of the basin with her main sail set. The original negative envelope was titled 'Morning at the quay'.
