The plan also includes alterations suggested in a letter dated 25 March 1837. Signed William Stone [Master Shipwright, Chatham Dockyard1830-1839]. NMM, Progress Book, volume 6, folio 261, states that 'Hawke' arrived in Chatham Dockyard on 19 March 1836 and was docked three times before sailing for Sheerness Dockyard on 7 January 1837 having been 'Fitted for a Demonstration Ship."
