Candle lantern Long Caption: On a label above the clasp is inscribed: 'Prices Patent Candle Company Ltd, Government Emigrant Ship Lanthorn No 3610. Registered July 1854'. The lantern is an octagonal shape with a pierced lid and hinged top and base. There is a cone-shaped section inside. The candle holder and glass is separate. There is a hinged clasp on the lid with a slot for a padlock - the padlock prevented the passengers from handling naked lights.
