Tin Long Caption: Relic of Sir John Franklin's last expedition 1845-1848. Soup tin found at Beechey Island by the Inglefield Search Expedition, 1852. The tin has been opened at one end with a hammer and chisel. It is made of sheets of wrought iron, tinned and soldered together. The exterior surface is painted red. It was probably supplied by the expedition contractor Stephen Goldner. The number '(10)' is painted on the outside.
