Solid half-basket hilted sword Long Caption: Owned by Lieutenant R.C. Richards (active 1929-1936). The solid half-basket hilt has raised bars and crown and anchor badge (post-1901 crown). There is a lion's-head pommel and back-piece, the mane extending its full length, and a prominent tang button. White fish-skin grip bound with three gilt wires. The hilt is hinged and pierced on the reverse. Blade is straight, flat-backed, with a spear point.
