Presentation sword Long Caption: Owned by Sir Samuel Hood (1762-1814). The hilt consists of a pommel in the shape of a human head with coronet. The guard is two blocks joined by a chain and two ropes in which is set a small tablet depicting Neptune and Perseus. The grip bears a coat of arms with supporters on either side of a globe, langets embossed with trophies of war. The blade is straight, blued and gilt.
