Cutlass Long Caption: Cutlass, the cutlass belonged to C.P.O. Barnaby (active 1919). The cutlass consists of a brass hilt, which is cast in one piece with the 'stepped' pommel, knuckle-bow and upturned quillon, which has a ball-shaped finial. The grip is grooved. The steel blade is curved, flat-backed, with a narrow fuller running two-thirds of the length of the blade, which has an almost hatchet-shaped point. The black leather scabbard has a top locket and chape.
