Straight-bladed dirk Long Caption: Straight-bladed dirk, the hilt of the dirk consists of a cross-guard, which tapers to the disc-shaped finials. The dirk's quillons are upturned. On the upper face of the guard, near to the blade, is a rectangular stamp containing the letters 'F T', which refers to Francis Thurkle II. The gilt brass pommel cap has bevelled corners and a prominent tang button. The dirk has a four-sided ivory grip, which also has bevelled corners.
