Royal Marines sword Long Caption: Royal Marines sword, the hilt of the sword consists of a gilt openwork half-basket guard, with the Queen's cypher 'VR' and a crown inserted in the outward bars. The reverse portion of the guard has been made to hinge down and the inside of the guard is stamped 'RM 3'. The sword has a gilt pommel and back-piece.
