Stirrup hilted sword Long Caption: The hilt consists of a gilt stirrup guard with a lion's-head pommel and ebony grip bound with wire? The langets are engraved with a foul anchor. The blade is straight with a broad groove and engraved with an anchor, crown and trophies. The scabbard is black leather with two gilt brass lockets and rings (chape missing). On the scabbard is the inscription: 'Prosser....Ldn.....' This sword forms part of the Spinney Collection comprising sixteen swords, five dirks and three pistols - AAA3114 (pair) and 3115.
