A fishing pink on a windy day Long Caption: A coastal fishing boat known as a pink is shown sailing through choppy water to the left of the picture. Two men on board attend to their nets cast over the side. Pinks were flat-bottomed vessels designed to land on the beach to discharge their catch. They were square-rigged with the mainmast amidships, the foremast directly behind the stern, and long leeboards.
